Jennifer + Scott’s Microwedding in August began by exchanging vows on a mountaintop, and ended with an intimate family dinner at a private Lakehouse.
We started planning at my favorite wine bar. We split a bottle of something Italian and explored different ways to make their day feel meaningful and relaxing- while also leaning into a timeless and elevated design.
The day kicked off with a chef prepared breakfast along with a tended bloody mary + mimosa bar. After getting ready for the day together, Jennifer and Scott loaded into the shuttle stocked with champagne and headed up the mountain.
A mountaintop glass chapel greeted them with an artful grounded floral arch at the end of the aisle. The newlyweds made their vows, and snapped a few candid photos at the top of the foggy cliff.
The shuttles took the group of 15 to a local winery at the bottom of the mountain for a wine + charcuterie lunch. Live music, bud vases, candles and a little sweat from the August heat. This stop made the day feel a little less “wedding” and a little more like Jennifer + Scott.
While they enjoyed, our team pulled together to clean the house and get it “reception ready”. You would’ve never known 15 people were staying for the weekend. Florals, candles, music, wedding cake, passed apps, and specialty cocktails awaited.
The plan was to enjoy a cocktail hour inside, and then head outside for dinner. But the August heat + the excitement from family and friends inspired a different idea.
Bathing suits were slipped on, and after a few cocktails- everyone (including Grandmother) was in the lake.
After a sunset swim, everyone touched up their evening looks and headed downstairs for their dinner.
A timeless and elevated tablescape embellished the evening with a classic earth toned floral garland, gold rimmed glassware and chateau inspired flatware. We sourced a subtly floral textured linen for the king’s table, and brassy gold napkin rings to tie the look together.
The night was filled with a fine tuned 3 course meal, handpicked wine pairings, and toasts that lasted into the evening.
After sneaking kisses while cutting the cake, our team left the group with gratitude + heartfelt inspiration from the sincerity of the day.
